About the Role
Teach is currently recruiting a skilled and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to support students with autism, including non-verbal learners, in a welcoming and inclusive school environment in Norfolk. This is a deeply rewarding opportunity to provide personalised support and help students thrive both academically and socially.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide tailored support to autistic students, including those with non-verbal communication needs
- Use communication tools such as PECS, Makaton, or AAC to facilitate understanding and interaction
- Collaborate closely with teachers, therapists, and families to deliver consistent and effective support
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment
- Encourage independence, confidence, and positive behaviour in all learners
Requirements
- Proven experience working with autistic children and young people
- Proficiency in non-verbal communication strategies (e.g. PECS, Makaton, AAC)
- Patience, adaptability, and a strong commitment to inclusive education
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills
- Passion for making a meaningful difference in the lives of students with additional needs
