SEND Teaching Assistant
We are currently recruiting for an experienced and enthusiastic SEND Teaching Assistant to support pupils within a welcoming educational setting in Southend.
This is a temporary role with an immediate start available.
Role Overview
You will be working closely with class teachers and the SENCO to support pupils with a range of additional needs, which may include ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and speech and language difficulties. Duties will include:
Providing 1:1 and small group support
Assisting pupils to access the curriculum
Supporting positive behaviour strategies
Helping to implement EHCP targets
Encouraging engagement, independence, and confidence in learning
Candidate Requirements
Previous experience working with children or young people (school-based or transferable care/support experience preferred)
Experience supporting children with special educational needs (SEND)
A calm, patient and adaptable approach
Strong communication and teamwork skills
An enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
