1:1 Teaching Assistant Opportunity – NR9 Primary School
Teach Ltd is currently recruiting for a dedicated and supportive 1:1 Teaching Assistant to work within a welcoming primary school in the NR9 area. This full-time role runs Monday to Friday from after May half term through to the end of the summer term.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Teaching Assistant or someone with strong SEN or classroom support experience who is passionate about making a positive difference to a pupil’s learning and development on a 1:1 basis.
The successful candidate will work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to provide tailored support for an individual pupil, helping them to access learning, remain engaged, and achieve their full potential.
The Role
Responsibilities include:
• Providing dedicated 1:1 support for a pupil within a primary classroom setting
• Supporting learning activities in line with the class teacher’s planning
• Adapting tasks to meet individual needs and learning styles
• Supporting emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies
• Encouraging engagement, independence, and confidence in learning
• Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO to monitor progress
• Supporting communication, social development, and classroom integration
• Maintaining a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
The Ideal Candidate
Applicants should:
• Have experience working as a Teaching Assistant or in a school-based support role
• Ideally have experience providing 1:1 or SEN support
• Be patient, empathetic, and resilient
• Be able to build positive and consistent relationships with pupils
• Work effectively as part of a team within a school environment
• Have a good understanding of safeguarding and child protection
• Hold an enhanced DBS on the Update Service or be willing to obtain one
