Teaching Assistant (SEMH) – Full-Time Opportunity in King’s Lynn
Teach Ltd is currently recruiting for a resilient, caring, and dedicated Teaching Assistant to support a specialist SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) school in the King’s Lynn area on a full-time basis for the summer term.
This is a highly rewarding opportunity for an experienced Teaching Assistant or individual with strong behaviour support experience who is passionate about making a positive impact on young people with additional needs.
The successful candidate will support pupils with SEMH needs, helping them to engage in learning, regulate behaviour, and develop confidence within a structured and supportive environment.
The Role
Responsibilities may include:
• Supporting pupils with SEMH needs on a 1:1 and small group basis
• Assisting teaching staff in delivering tailored learning activities
• Supporting behaviour regulation and positive behaviour strategies
• Building trusting and supportive relationships with pupils
• Encouraging engagement in learning and school routines
• Supporting pupils’ emotional wellbeing and social development
• Working in line with individual behaviour plans and risk assessments
• Helping to maintain a safe, structured, and supportive learning environment
The Ideal Candidate
Applicants should:
• Have experience working as a Teaching Assistant or in a behaviour support role
• Be confident working with children with SEMH or additional needs
• Demonstrate resilience, patience, and emotional intelligence
• Be able to build positive and professional relationships with pupils
• Work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Have a strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection
• Hold an enhanced DBS on the Update Service or be willing to obtain one
